Next U.S. Particle Accelerator School in Annapolis, Maryland

The U.S. Particle Accelerator School is offering a program of graduate-level courses sponsored by the University of Maryland at College Park and held in Annapolis, Maryland, from June 16-27, 2008. Participants may earn 3 University of Maryland credits in two weeks or earn 1.5 University of Maryland credits in one week. One undergraduate course and twelve specialized graduate-level courses will be offered.

Two new courses being offered this summer are "Medical Applications of Accelerators" and "Radiation Detection and Imaging for Medicine and Homeland Security." Limited financial support is available to those who qualify; please submit a curriculum vitae and letter of recommendation along with your application by April 2, 2008. Those not receiving financial support can audit their course.

Participation is open to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens. International participants not currently residing in the U.S. may apply to attend the program and may request financial sponsorship, but they may not earn credit from the University of Maryland. Foreign nationals requiring visas to enter the U.S. should apply early so that invitation letters can be sent in a timely manner.
