It's not too late! There's still time to register for the 2008 Health Physics Society (HPS) Midyear Topical Meeting on "Radiation-Generating Devices." And you can still register for the 2008 HPS Professional Development School on "Topics in Accelerator Health Physics."
Just in case you haven't heard, both of the these events will be held at the end of January 2008 in Oakland, California. For the midyear meeting, the Accelerator Section has put together a broad-ranging and intriguing technical program and the Northern California Chapter has developed a fascinating social program--between the two, we'll keep you going from early morning until late in the evening.
If you don't get your fill of health physics and fun during the midyear meeting from Sunday, January 27, through Wednesday, January 30, then you can stay on for the professional development school, which starts on Thursday, January 31. Taught by world-renowned experts, the school will expand your horizons and open your eyes to the world of accelerator health physics. And fun is part of the curriculum, too, with a night-out in Chinatown, complete with lion dancers for a traditional welcome to the Chinese New Year.
But hurry, the clock is ticking, so now's the time to register if you haven't already. For more enticements, read articles on the midyear and school in this issue of the newsletter; check out the message from the Accelerator Section President, Kamran Vaziri; or go directly to the on-line midyear registration form and the down-loadable PDF school registration form.
See you in Oakland!
