The Ad Hoc Committee on Homeland Security, which it is hoped will be approved as a permanent standing committee by the Society Board of Directors at its June 16, 2002, meeting, is planning an open committee meeting at the upcoming American Radiation Safety Conference and Exposition (ARSCE) in Tampa.

The committee meeting will be held after the all-day Plenary Session and Symposium on Homeland Security sponsored by the Society’s Government, Medical Health Physics, and Radiation Safety Operations (RSO) Sections on June 19, 2002. A preliminary agenda of the Plenary Session and Symposium can be found on page 25 of the Preliminary Program for the ARSCE.

The open meeting of the Committee will be in Room 8 of the Tampa Marriott, at 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. to avoid conflict with other Society business. Please plan to attend and notify Allen Brodsky IMMEDIATELY regarding your attendance. You will hear the important directions and progress of the Homeland Security Committee and be able to provide your own input. The meeting will be set into motion as rapidly as possible to allow all present to provide input.
