The Health Physics Society Issues a Press Release Supporting Radioactive Source Legislation

The Health Physics Society has issued a press release titled "Professional Society of Radiation Specialists Supports Radioactive Source Legislation." The press release was issued in response to a recent press release from the International Atomic Energy Agency about the inadequate control of radioactive sources in the world and in response to information about legislation being drafted by Congress addressing the "orphaned" sources in the United States.

The topic of Orphan Sources is the subject of a Society Position Statement and Background Document issued earlier this year.
