Radiation Detectors Given to Fire Department

The first delivery of recycled radiation detection instruments provided under the new cooperative agreement between the Department of Justice and Department of Energy was made to a fire department in Washington, D.C., as reported by The Washingon Times on September 6, 2002.

As reported elsewhere on this Web site, the Health Physics Society has volunteered to assist in the program by offering members' expertise in keeping the instruments operating and calibrated, as well as assisting in training on their use and operation.
