Answer to Question #1030 Submitted to "Ask the Experts"

Category: Environmental and Background Radiation — Fallout

The following question was answered by an expert in the appropriate field:

Q
Regarding recently declassified DOE documents and nuclear testing in the Pacific, has anyone yet compiled a bibliography of them, online or otherwise? I am particularly interested in studies regarding distant fallout in and around Guam and the Marianas from Bravo et al. detonations in the Marshall Islands. Thank you kindly for your attention to this.
A

Please see the answer to Question #966 in the category "Environmental and Background Radiation." In that answer, I described how to directly access online all of the documents on fallout in the Pacific recently released by the Department of Energy (DOE). In addition to the extensive online documents that the DOE has provided on Pacific testing, there is also a broader-based online database, OpenNet, that catalogs over 270,000 documents dealing with the entire United States nuclear testing program. It is also supported by the DOE. OpenNet might also contain information you are interested in. It can be found online at OpenNet. You can also search for titles and subjects and request the documents from an archive in Nevada. The physical location of the archive can be found on the DOE/Nevada Nuclear Testing Archive.
