Category: Pregnancy and Radiation — Proximity to radioactive persons

The following question was answered by an expert in the appropriate field:

Q
I am having a HIDA scan for a gall bladder problem and wonder if I should stay away from my pregnant daughter and my six-year-old grandchild. Please tell me how long it takes for my system to be totally free of radiation.
A
You are really not a risk to your pregnant daughter and grandchild, but if you are concerned (anxious) you can wait a week and then you can hug the both of them.
