The following question was answered by an expert in the appropriate field:

I'm working in dental x ray. Our x-ray room is protected by lead. Am I candidate for lead exposure?

The lead sheet should be on the inside of the wall (not the side toward the room) and should pose no health risk as long as the lead itself is not handled and ingested.
